Privacy & Cookies Policy
- Privacy
- Certain parts of our website ask you to submit information if you wish to subscribe to our email newsletters, the TRG Update and/or the TRG Executive BRIEFing. This information is to ensure that you receive the
requested newsletter and to record who has made a request.
We will only use your information for these purposes. We will not provide your
details to third parties except
where we are legally obliged to do so.
- Cookies
- Like most websites, the TRG website uses ‘cookies’ which are small text files that are placed on your computer that store certain limited information about you. The information is transferred by the website to the cookie file of the browser on the hard drive of your computer or device.
- You can alter your browser settings if you want to reject cookies. It is best to visit your web browser's ‘Help’ menu for instructions on how to do this. However, please note that if you do this, it might impair some of the functionality of our website.
- We use Google Analytics to analyse the use of our website, which involves the use of cookies. This allows us to measure the number of visitors to our website, to see how visitors navigate the website and to see which resources they access. This helps us to develop new content and to improve the way our website works. These cookies do not enable us to identify individual visitors and all information these cookies collect is aggregated. The information will only be used for website analytics purposes.
- Google will store this information and if you want more details about this, see Google's privacy policy. Google also provides further information about Google Analytics.
For more details about the specific cookies we use, see TRG law - Use of Cookies.
By using our website, you agree that we can place these types of cookies on your device. To prevent Google Analytics cookies being set, you may install the Google Analytics Opt-Out Browser Add-On.
- For those of you who receive the TRG Update and/or TRG Executive BRIEFing by email – these are distributed on our behalf by Constant Contact. We have been assured that its service does not use cookies and is fully compliant with the law in relation to the use of cookies and
similar technologies. However, just to be clear, its service automatically tracks through a technical means called a ‘web beacon’ when the Update or BRIEFing is opened, by whom and when and which links are opened by the recipient. We use this information to assess what is of greatest interest to our recipients and for no other purpose. It is not practical for us to get explicit consent from all of our recipients to this facility nor is there any way technically we can get Constant Contact to disable this tracking facility for some recipients and not others. We believe there may be ways that recipients can prevent this tracking being effective when opening our Updates and BRIEFings. In particular, so called ‘web beacons’ which Constant Contact use, can be refused when delivered via email by disabling HTML images or by selecting ‘text only’ emails via your email software.
